Optimized Computer Solutions, Inc. is a New York City Information Technology consulting company. Originally established by Todd Stevens in 1984, OCS started its’ business writing financial software for the Accounting Industry and later published The Financial Edge© client write-up system for practicing accountants.
By 1987 OCS was one of the first makers of IBM compatible computer equipment in New York City. They later expanded into basic PC repair services for both home and business users of stand-alone computers and printers. At that time OCS also began their cabling installation business, which has matured into a large part of their business.
As the industry evolved, OCS changed with the times as well by offering Local Area Network Installation & maintenance services, followed by Wide Area Network and Internet services in 1995 and 3com NBX IP Telephony services in 2001. In 2005 OCS in conjunction with Sequoia Community Initiatives developed and published The Remergent Client Management© system, a Homeless Information Management System (HIMS) designed to help New York City’s homeless shelters automate their operations. The software package is in use in several shelters in the five boroughs.
